AIS has secured a contract to install its award winning ContraFlame® MS400 (integrated thermal insulation and passive fire protection (PFP)) panels and ContraFlame® Acoustic underdeck systems onto a major topside project in offshore Canada.

Building on its extensive track record of developing innovative products that work effectively in extreme environmental conditions, this project is the latest to use AIS’s market leading technology ContraFlame® MS400. The project has already benefited from the successful application of ContraFlame® technology at an earlier stage of the project in 2008.

In 2018, AIS was awarded an EIC innovation award for their lightweight MS400 panels, which enable a significant amount of weight to be removed from the structure without any reduction in fire protection effectiveness. Andrew Bennion, CEO of AIS said,

“I am very pleased that we have secured this contract as it is a clear acknowledgment of how effective our ContraFlame® products are performing in challenging environments.”

The scope of the contract awarded to Advanced Insulation includes the design, supply, installation, and commissioning of the ContraFlame® products.

Product installation to the topside structures is scheduled to commence in Q1 2019. Once constructed, the completed structure will be floated offshore and mated with the concrete gravity structure in time for the first oil in 2022.
