Multi-national O&G company see savings with AIS jackets
A multi-national oil and gas company tasked Phoenix Compact Valves (PCV) and Total Control Systems (TCS) to provide a skid package requiring various valves supplied with personal protection insulation. TCS approached our ContraFlex® team to provide support and technical expertise for the insulation on the skid package, located in the Campeche Bay off the coast of Mexico.
The highlights
Development
Our team used 3D modelling software to tailor the jackets to the skid package prior to shipment and installation
Design
The jackets have been tested in highly challenging environments to ensure their durability and suitability in external settings. This is all thanks to a waterproof outer cloth and water shedding design
Installation
The jackets were fitted to the manifold assembly before being sent to the offshore facility. Such an approach resulted in little to no modification
Reduced maintenance and installation costs provided
By installing to the manifold assembly before sending to the offshore facility we delivered a cost-effective solution. This was without the need for specialised insulation contractors on the offshore facility. As a result, we were able to support PCV and TCS to save labour and installation costs as well as meeting the quick turnaround times required.
Other Highlights
Our bespoke jackets were designed and optimized for use in congested areas with clash points within the required insulated skid package.
This project was filled with challenging moments that ContraFlex® confronted and overcame in a professional manner.
The quick turnaround was praised by PCV, with Tommy Russo, Senior Project Manager saying “I would like to express my total satisfaction with the ContraFlex® team who helped on our production manifold We will be consulting ContraFlex® on all of our future jobs.”
